A short description of the functions found in the "Passport Editor" window.
In the default view, the Passport Editor is located in the lower centre of the BTS user interface. Here you can create a "passport" for your texts and objects by entering metadata about them. The Passport Editor is divided into different categories which are organized in tabs inside the Passport Editor window. For the Corpus these categories are: Main, Relations, IDs,

Main tab
The text-input fields and drop-down menus give you diverse options to enter metadata for your
text or object. If you are working on a "child" object and want it to have the same metadata
as the "parent" object has, you can click
"Inherit Passport Data" in the top right corner of the Passport
Editor.
(Depending on whether you chose an object or a text, there are different registers for metadata. The following is selected for texts, objects also include "object" tab for general information on its type, context and function and "present location" tab. They can all be edited by using the search fuction and dropdown menus.)
"Name": you can change the name of your object or text.
"Type" and "Subtype": choose a type and subtype (e.g. text, object, etc.) from the Thesaurus.
"SortKey": rearrange the texts in the Corpus Navigator tree (the default order is alphabetical).
"ID": see the ID of the text.
"Author": see and edit the author of a text.
"Date": see the date of creation of the text.
"Visibility": change who can see the object or Text (public, project, group, user).
"Review State": enter or edit the Review state of the object or text (published, reviewed, awaiting-update, awaiting-review, new).
"Project": see and change the project you are working in.
"Corpus": see and change the corpus you are working in. Both "Project and "Corpus" can be
edited by clicking 
right from the respective field.
Relations tab
"Relations" tab gives information on the relation between yours and other objects. The default setting is a relation to the element that is directly above yours in the hierarchy.
Relation: You can choose between "partOf" and "is composed of".
Object: Enter the ID of the related object here.
Search Object:
Search for the object in the corpora of your current project, so that you do not have to enter
it manually.
Add Relation: Click it
to add more relations.
Remove Relation:
This removes a relation from the Object.
Watch out!: One
relation has to remain, otherwise the edited object disappears.?

IDs tab
Add Identifier: You can
link objects with other projects and external IDs (e.g. Trismegistos numbers) by adding an
identifier. Click it. NOT
WORKING YET
date tab
You can enter the dating of your piece. Click on the to search the Thesaurus for valid dates. To add another blank space click 
"Add
widget". To delete one click 
"Delete
widget". You can also enter a free comment to the date, e.g. how certain it is. To add a new
group (date and comment field) click
"Add new group".
Bibliography tab
You can enter a bibliographical item from the Thesaurus?
In
"bibliographical_reference" the page range of the reference is to be entered. You can also add
your comment to the reference below. From the drop-down menu "type" you can choose a type of
your bibliographical reference (e.g. photo, facsimile
- is not possible yet).
In the "bibliographical_text_field you can enter your references as a
continuous text:

Definition tab
Definition shows six textboxes. The uppermost is for a definition of the object, the second is for a protocol of your working process (e.g. the date you first entered it in BTS, review date etc.). The third field is for the editors comment. Three smalle fields below are for Line-count, folder, slips???
Text tab
This allows to enter textual metadata for the text:

"Script": edit the script of the text by choosing an entry from the Thesaurus .
"Language": edit the language of the text by choosing an entry from the Thesaurus .
"Texttype": change the type of the text by choosing an entry from the Thesaurus .
Be careful to choose the right Thesaurus, because there is no error message if you choose a false option (e.g. script: Gott would not make any sense). You can, of course, comment on your data in the comment fields below.
If you enter metadata for an object instead of text, the tabs for metadata apart from the main tab: "Relations", "ID", "date", "object", "bibliography", "definition" and "present location". Notice that "object" and "present location" tabs are not present in the passport for a text, whereas an object does not have the "text" tab.
Object tab
Object allows you to choose type, material, agent, context and component form the Thesaurus
. You can also
choose from five options: Model, Imitation,
Miniature,
Skeuomorphic
and
Secondary? (words not
displayed entirely) by checking their boxes. Additionally, you can add your
own comment in the text-input field below.
Present location tab
This allows you to enter a location of your object by choosing it from the Thesaurus. You can check the boxes

below the location field or in_situ below the comment field. Additionally, you can enter the
objects Inventory Number and add your comment in the field below. To add another blank space
click
"Add widget". To delete one click "Delete
widget".
