Functions of Passport Editor in Thesaurus view. The Passport Editor is located in the centre of the User Interface in the Thesaurus view. Here, you can enter metadata about your Thesaurus entries, e.g. dating and coordinates, or links to external websites --> genauer erklären.
To open more metadata options cick the arrows on the right. A dropdown menu will appear. Be sure to only enter data that features your Thesaurus entry. A geographical entry lika "Assuan" may not be suitable to have dates, whereas a dating like "6th Dynasty" may not corelate with information on latitude and longitude.
There are several buttons on top of the Passport Editor:
"Inherit Passport Data From Parent Object": Copy all data of a parent Thesaurus object and apply it for the active child. A child entry may have the same metadata as its parent, so this may save time. If several pieces of data are different fill them in beforehand, they will not be overwritten.
"View Menu": Open a dropdown menu with two entries: "Inherit Passport Data" and "Inherit Overwrite Passport Data".
The second option gives you the oportunity to overwrite already filled in blanks with the parent object's metadata.
