The BTS is capable to search a transliteration for errors. Therefore, it uses a system grammar. That does not mean that it can recognize false lemmata or transcription and correct them. In fact, it has an internal logic according to which specific signs can only occur in specific combinations:
Das BTS ist in der Lage aufgrund einer Grammatik den Text der Transkription auf Fehler zu überprüfen. Das heißt nicht, dass es falsche Lemmata oder Transkriptionen erkennt oder korrigiert, sondern nur, dass aus Sicht der Programmlogik auftretende Fehler markiert werden:

Errors are marked by a red encircled rectangle on the right next to the scroll bar of the Texteditor. There are also light red encircled rectangles. These give the location of a rubrum (in this example l.19 and l.37). A red wavy line marks errors in the Texteditor window itself. On mouse-over at the red square on the left of the Texteditor you can see a hint with information about the cause of the error:
Die Fehler sind durch einen rot umrandetes Rechteck am rechten Rand neben der Scrollleiste des Texteditors zu erkennen. Es gibt heller und dunkler rot umrandete Felder. Die helleren geben aber die Stelle eines Rubrums an (hier z.B: Z19 und Z37). Im Feld des Texteditors selbst sehen Sie rote Wellenlinien unter dem Grammatikfehler. Durch on-mouse-over beim links neben der fehlerhaften Textzeile erscheinenden roten Kästchen erfahren Sie den Grund des Fehlers:

In this case a hyphen is missing in front of the line-end marker "§". If you insert the required symbol the error message will vanish.
In diesem Fall fehlt ein "-" vor dem durch "§" markierten Ende der Zeile. Wenn sie das Zeichen einfügen verschwindet die Fehlermeldung:
